Plitvice (प्लित्विक) Lakes National park is situated in Croatia, a sovereign state placed at the crossroads of central and southeast Europe on Adriatic sea. It is the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia also registered as UNESCO World Heritage. 

It is eminent for its lakes and because of the various endemic species. Almost 16 lakes are seen from the surface.

The 16 lakes that can be seen from the surface are grouped into the 12 Upper Lakes and the four Lower Lakes.

1. UPPER LAKES: Prošćansko jezero, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Vir, Galovac, Milinovo jezero, Gradinsko jezero, Buk.
2. LOWER LAKES: Kozjak, Milanovac, Gavanovac, Kaluđerovac, Novakovića brod.
